Hair Disaster!!

Sometimes I get in the mood for a change and today was one of those days. I have had blond highlights on my brown hair for years. I decided I wanted to go back to all brown hair. I went to the store and shopped boxes. I bought a box that said "Medium Ash Brown." I read online that you should get Ash vs. Warm if you have fair skin. I came home and had it setting in my hair for about 20 min.

Meanwhile, Darrell had gone to get his hair cut and told his stylist what I was doing. He called me while the solution was setting in my hair and told me that his stylist told him that you SHOULD NOT put Ash colors in your hair if you have blond highlights because it will turn them GREEN! I immediately rinsed it out, but no green hair. It was VERY dark brown and not even all over my head. Darrell thought I should do another box of "Light Warm Brown" to lighten it up.

So after box #2 my hair is now a dark Reddish brown (more red). I had been thinking about going red for years, so I guess I got what I wanted. I'm not sold on it yet, but maybe it will grow on me. I definitely don't look like the girl on the box!!

My first blog!

Welcome to my blog! I will be using this blog to keep family, friends, and curious strangers up to date on our happenings.

Yesterday was a rough day for me. I had a procedure (LEEP) done to remove some pre-cancerous cells from my cervix. I have high risk Cervical Dysplagia. I am so blessed that they caught it before it turned into cancer! Hopefully they were able to get it all and it will not cause any problems when we start trying to get pregnant. I go back to my doctor in 1 month, so keep your fingers crossed! Having this procedure has put me at a higher risk for pre-term labor, which makes me very nervous. My doctor is fabulous and and assured me that they will take every precaution to prevent this from happening.

On a more positive note...
My parents are moving to the Dallas area next week! I am so excited to have them close. They will only be about an hour away from me, which in Dallas is nothing. They have bought a beautiful house that I can't wait to help decorate. My dad asked Darrell to help him plan the media room and he is so excited about this. He gets to design his dream media room with my parents money! He has bought 4 books, and is spending countless time online researching for this new project.

Darrell and I recently bought mountain bikes. Before Darrell and I met he used to love to mountain bike. His bike was stolen in college and he has never had the money to replace it. I have never mountain biked before, but thought it would be something fun to do together and help me lose some weight! We went on our first adventure on Saturday, and I'm not sure yet if this is for me. I had a pretty nasty fall and got scraped up, but I'll keep trying because I know Darrell is really enjoying it.

Well, that's it for now! Darrell rented "Made of Honor" for me to watch today so I think I'll start that. Thanks for reading!
